300 watts

In watching my Physics lectures, I realized that I could calculate the watts needed to do some of the climbs that always plague me around here.  It turns out that around 300 watts is about the minimum required for most of the harder climbs.  This wouldn't keep me up with anybody fast, but it would be respectable.  So now I just need to do the CTS Climbing workout and shoot for 300 watts in the 2 5 minute muscle tension intervals.  It will take a couple of weeks to get there I think.

Generator Day

We had a power failure this morning.  I guess technically it wasn't a failure since the power company called and told us that there would an outage.  It seemed like a good time to test the generator and the feasibility of getting out and running under real circumstances.  What a riot!  I overfilled the tank and caused gas to go back through the carburetor and into the cylinders.  I had to drain the oil and refill it.  The generator seems to know when it'as oil isn't quite right, as it would only run for about a minute.  Anyway, I got it going.  Of course after I got it running and hooked up, the power came back.  So now I have to clean up the patio and driveway where gas/oil mixture has spilled.  Kitty litter to the rescue.
